Seoul Forest and Hongdae

DAY TWO

Seoul Forest
Essentially a large park than a forest, we solely went here for the deer. Although that turned out to be disappointing (I thought they would be free roaming, but they were not :( ), the rest of the forest park made up for it. It was vaaaaaassst and divided into sections with exhibits that offered something different from the shopping that was to come later.

Hongdae
A vibrant and bustling suburb tailored specifically for the youngins'. The highlight for the day, and the entire purpose of going to Hongdae, was Thanks Nature Cafe - A SHEEP CAFE. Food and drinks were cute and a bit overpriced, but the sheep were ADORABLE. They were so clean, and so soft, and so cute! Their bleats melted my heart.

Ikseon-dong Hanok Village, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Ihmwa Mural Village

Way back at the end of April, Kyle and I headed over to Korea for two weeks, mainly to attend a friend's wedding but also to squeeze in some sight seeing.

Kyle and I have previously been to Korea where we knocked out the majority of the main tourist spots. This trip was aimed at all the secondary items on our previous visit list.

Note: we found out the currency exchange was much better in Korea than those offered in Australia.

DAY ONE

Ikseon-dong Hanok Village
I absolutely adore Hanok Villages, Ikeseon-dong was one of my favourite places to visit this time around. Maybe it's the millennial in me romanticizing the old, but the traditional architecture was simply lovely. Under the timber frames were now classy restaurants and hip shops selling handcrafted accessories.

Gyeongbokgung Palace
We've been here on our previous trip, but I feel like no visit to Korea is complete without seeing a palace.

Fortress Wall of Seoul
A walk up from the mural village, we might as well check it out. Slightly regretted because it was a steep walk up a hill on a super humid day. Fairly nice views of the city from the hilltop, if only it weren't so cloudy/ smoggy.

Ihmwa Mural Village
A pleasant meandering path showcasing murals/ street art. A gentle way to finish off the day.
